Frequently Asked Questions
Does the REMplenish Myo-Nozzle work for everyone?
Everyone can benefit from improved sleep and a healthier airway. Each person’s snoring or myofunctional needs are different. Some will see improvement more quickly than others; most will notice a change in 4-6 weeks of regular use drinking 25-60 oz of water daily. Consistent use is most likely to produce results. 93% of participants in our 2020 usability study reported improvements in snoring and 34% reported reduced daytime tiredness.
REMplenish focuses on reducing the vibration associated with snoring caused by weak muscles of the tongue and throat. It does not address nasal snoring (plugged nostrils resulting in a high-pitched snore).
If think you are a nasal snorer you can look into: Nasal hygiene, nasal strips or stents, consult with an ENT or Allergist, or environmental controls.
How long does the therapy take before snoring is reduced?
Most users notice an improvement in about one month of regular REMplenish use drinking 25-60 oz of water at least 5 days a week. Some may notice improvement more quickly while others may take longer. Consistent daily use is the best predicter of results. Improvement will level off over time and plateau at around 6 months of use. Ongoing weekly use of REMplenish will help maintain results attained.
How do I know if I’m doing it right?
Please review the proper use animation video above and instructions below. Check out myofunctional therapist Kimi Nishimoto's article on troubleshooting common issues with use below.
Why am I not getting water?
The feeling of not getting ANY or very little water is most likely due to sucking in with the cheeks like a traditional straw. The feeling of not getting ENOUGH water can be improved by increasing the number of tongue push ups / swallow repetitions. Please review the proper use animation video to ensure you are pumping the tongue to draw water into the mouth.
How do I keep track of improvement?
It is important to establish a method for tracking progress over time. This will depend on your personal goals and how you want to track your progress.
Consider how you feel after awakening BEFORE using REMplenish and/or monitor the changes using a journal or fitness tracker that measures sleep quantity/quality. Things to think about:
- Do you have morning headaches or brain fog?
- What is your level of tiredness during the day?
- What is your current sleep quality/duration/stages of sleep according to your fitness tracker?
- How frequently do awake to use the bathroom at night?
- What is the frequency of snoring as reported by a bed partner or the SnoreLab app?
After using REMplenish for a period of several weeks do you notice:
- You are feeling more rested upon waking?
- You have more daytime energy?
- Fewer nighttime bathroom trips?
- You are able to fall asleep easier and remain asleep?
- You are able to fall back asleep easier after waking?
- A reduction in snoring as reported by a bed partner or the SnoreLab app?
- Do you generally feel better? We would love to hear your individual results by providing feedback on our contact page!
Do I need to keep using REMplenish after I achieve the results I want?
Yes, if you stop using the device, there may be a gradual loss of improvements made. To maintain strength, continue using the REMplenish Myo-Nozzle at least twice a week or simply consider this to be part of how you drink water daily. Adjust use based on your individual needs.
How do I clean my REMplenish product?
All of our products are top-rack dishwasher safe, but we recommend handwashing. Clean the myo-nozzle thoroughly and gently with dish soap, hot water, and the provided straw brush at least weekly, or more often if needed. If you wish to sanitize your myo-nozzle, you can boil it in water or rinse it in 70% isopropyl alcohol or diluted bleach.
It looks like the opening to my REMplenish Myo-Nozzle is torn, is that normal?
REMplenish is designed with a slit connecting the two small holes. This provides the resistance that creates the exercise and is completely normal. If you see the slit is torn or extending outside of the two holes, REMplenish may be replaced under the 3-month nozzle warranty. Please fill out the customer support form for a replacement, selecting "Issue with your REMplenish product". You will be asked to provide a photo of the nozzle for quality control and R&D purposes.
REMplenish is not strong enough to withstand a chewing habit and will not be replaced for misuse.
Is the Myo-Nozzle supposed to fold down when the flip-top cover of the plastic bottle is closed?
Yes, the myo-nozzle attached to the plastic bottle is designed to bend/fold underneath the clear flip-top on the cap of the bottle when it is closed. Our product engineers designed it this way, and bending will not damage the nozzle in any way.
Why is my REMplenish plastic bottle leaking?
Please make sure your myo-nozzle is inserted far down enough into the lid of the water bottle. You can view a photo of a properly attached myo-nozzle here. It is easier to insert the nozzle by pushing it through the bottom of the lid, rather than through the top. You may have to press it in pretty firmly to get the nozzle all the way in. According to our tests, as long as the nozzle is inserted properly the bottle should be leakproof. If the nozzle is properly attached and your bottle is still leaking, please reach out to us here for a free replacement.
Why does the Myo-Nozzle have a bad taste?
Our myo-nozzles are made of 100% medical grade silicone, and are given a sanitizing wash after they are manufactured. If you find that your nozzle has a bad taste to it, try hand-washing it with unscented soap and airdrying it. Repeat as necessary until the taste goes away.
If you wash the nozzle and you still notice a strong taste afterwards, you may be more sensitive to the taste of silicone than most people. If this is the case and you find you won't be able to use REMplenish due to the taste, please reach out to us here to submit a return for a refund.
How do I clean/prevent mold growth on the Myo-Nozzle?
If you are noticing mold growing on your myo-nozzle, we recommend boiling the nozzle in water or using diluted bleach to clean the nozzle (make sure to rinse it well with water afterwards to remove all the bleach). You can squeeze the nozzle against the provided brush to clean in the nooks and crannies of the nozzle. The best practice is to wash your myo-nozzle regularly and not wait until the nozzle gets really dirty.

Troubleshooting Common Issues
Swallowing air while drinking
Make sure to put the nozzle in all the way, keep the tongue tip anchored to the bottom of the nozzle where “the spot” would be (where you say N). Keeping the tongue tip anchored to the bottom of the nozzle and compressing the nozzle against the middle of the tongue and palate will give you the proper mechanics. For those with a high palate, the nozzle may need to be more against the palate vs flat on the tongue.
Sucking in with cheeks
Make sure the nozzle is in all the way, keep the tongue tip anchored to the bottom of the nozzle where “the spot” would be (where you say N). Relax the face and try to hold the jaw still or lightly massage the cheeks to remind yourself to relax the cheeks. Use the tongue to draw the water out instead of the cheeks like with a normal straw.
Moving the jaw
Make sure the nozzle is in all the way, keep the tongue tip anchored to the bottom of the nozzle where “the spot” would be (where you say N). Relax the face and try to hold the jaw still. Use the tongue to draw the water out instead of the cheeks like with a normal straw. If you are struggling with this, gently hold the lower jaw or lightly massage the cheeks to release that tension and draw the liquid in using the tongue.
Noisy swallowing
Make sure the nozzle is in all the way, keep the tongue tip anchored to the bottom of the nozzle where “the spot” would be (where you say N). Think of the tongue like a pump, the center of the tongue should draw the water out and cup it in the center of the tongue, then when swallowing the center of the tongue pumps against the nozzle and palate to swallow the water. Staying relaxed and not straining can also help.
Difficulty drawing the water out
Make sure the nozzle is in all the way, keep the tongue tip anchored to the bottom of the nozzle where “the spot” would be (where you say N). You may be unintentionally trying to use it like a normal straw and using cheek muscles. To suck in water using the tongue, make sure that you get the tongue positioned correctly, and focus on relaxing the cheeks and not moving the jaw, you may need to gently massage the cheeks to relax them. Focus on small sips. Once you get it started, keep the nozzle in and practice doing back to back drinks and breathing through the nose when you need to. You may also want to make sure the mouthpiece is inserted all the way in the straw.
